IMPACT Community Action Partnership is looking for reliable, caring volunteers to help with our Monday morning food rescue deliveries that keep our pantries stocked and families fed. Volunteers will drive an automatic box truck (no CDL required) to pick up donated food and deliver it to our Drake Neighborhood pantry. Routes are local, clearly outlined, and supported by staff throughout the shift.
What to expect:
-
Drive an automatic box truck on a local route (Ankeny → Windsor Heights → Drake → Ankeny)
-
A 2–3 hour commitment on Monday mornings
-
Staff assistance with loading and unloading
-
Clear instructions, printed routes, and on-call staff support
-
A direct and meaningful impact on families in our community
We are seeking one primary driver as well as backup or on-call drivers who can assist as needed or fill in when others are unavailable. For those unsure about committing, one-time shifts and ride-along opportunities are available to see if the role is a good fit.
What you’ll need:
-
A valid driver’s license
-
Comfort driving a larger vehicle
-
Willingness to use a pallet jack and assist with moving donated items, with support provided
This role is essential in ensuring rescued food reaches families who need it most. If you enjoy driving, working behind the scenes, and making a tangible difference in a short amount of time, we would love to connect with you.
