Who We Are
IMPACT Community Action Partnership is a nonprofit organization serving five central Iowa counties—Polk, Boone, Jasper, Marion, and Warren. However, we only have volunteer opportunities in Polk and Boone counties. As part of a national network of Community Action Agencies, we are dedicated to addressing both the symptoms and root causes of poverty. We provide essential support to individuals and families through a range of services, including food and personal hygiene assistance, utility support through LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program), weatherization services to improve home energy efficiency, basic needs resource navigation, and more. Our mission is to ensure that everyone in our community has access to the resources they need to thrive.
What We Do
As a volunteer with IMPACT Community Action Partnership, you’ll play a vital role in helping individuals and families meet their basic needs. Volunteers support a variety of programs and services across our five-county service area, including:
Food Pantry Support – Sorting, organizing, and distributing food and hygiene items to families in need.
Front Desk Assistance – Greeting visitors, scheduling appointments, providing families with resources, and helping families get checked in for their visit.
Food Rescue – Picking up surplus food from local partners and delivering it to pantries.
Food Delivery– Picking up food packages for our Ankeny location and delivering to families in Polk County.
By volunteering, you are helping to fight food insecurity, reduce waste through food rescue, support neighbors during times of crisis, and make essential services more accessible. Your time, energy, and compassion directly contribute to building a stronger, more connected, and more resilient community.
