Emergency Department volunteers have interest in helping others and gaining experience in the medical field. Volunteers work alongside medical staff to keep the unit in order and interact with patients to make their visit more comfortable. An ED volunteer may be found stocking IV and isolation carts, checking on patients or helping with other work as needed.
Shifts:

Monday through Sunday: various (2-4 hours), 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Locations:
- Blank Children's Hospital (the first Level II Pediatric Trauma Center in Iowa)
- Iowa Lutheran Hospital (Level IV Trauma Center with specialization in behavioral health)
- Iowa Methodist Medical Center (One of only two Level I Trauma Centers in Iowa)
- Methodist West Hospital (Level IV Trauma Center)
