The centralized furniture storage facility is located at the western edge of downtown Des Moines. The facility will be open for community donations Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 9-11 AM. We need volunteers to load in donations and organize the warehouse during those times.
FURNITURE INTAKE/MOVING
Volunteer movers will load, unload, and set up donated furniture and household goods. If you sign up for this position, please note you will be asked to:
- Lift, carry, and load furniture weighing up to 100 pounds
- Set up furniture and household goods including dressers, tables, chairs, sofas, and lamps
- Protect donated furniture from damage
- Pack and unpack items in an organized and efficient manner
- Follow established furniture donation policies and procedures
