Description

The Iowa State Fair Parade is the kickoff event for the Iowa State Fair. The Parade is run by over 100 volunteers each year. For 2021, the Parade will take place on Wednesday August 11th at 6:15 p.m. The Parade begins at the State of Iowa Capitol Complex and runs west on Grand Ave. ending at the Sculpture Garden.

Multiple volunteer positions are available for this event and information about each position can be found at: https://isfparade.org/volunteer-information-and-guidelines/. You can also find volunteer requirements such as minimum age and times for each position at this site.

To sign up for a volunteer position, please go to: https://isfparade.org/volunteer-sign-up.

Volunteer training sessions will take place on Wednesday August 4th at 6 p.m. and Saturday August 7th at 10 a.m. on the east side of the State Capitol building (in the parking lot). New volunteers need to attend one of these training sessions. Previous volunteers may attend a session if they choose. ISF Parade t-shirts are required by all volunteers and will be distributed at the training sessions at no cost.

Volunteer check-in on the day of the Parade will take place at the Lucas building's north side entrance, facing the big parking lot, from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. (this is a new location if you have volunteered before).

If you have any questions, please reach out to: volunteers@isfparade.org.
