United Way works with legislators, communities, programs, and leaders across the state of Iowa to establish mission-driven public policy goals and priorities to achieve systemic changes. With pandemic procedures in place, opportunities for one-on-one interaction with our elected officials are limited.
During this one-hour virtual event, Advocacy Officer, Dave Stone, will walk you through the issues currently in play in the legislature, help you determine your local legislators, and provide guidance for writing your own letter.
After the training, join us for networking time as we write letters together.
Use your Volunteer Time Off to join us for this educational opportunity and to write letters to support United Way of Central Iowa. This virtual event is free, and a great way for you to engage in the legislative process this year.
