We are recruiting Saturday morning volunteers for the duration of the Downtown Des Moines Farmer's Market to distribute information about our programs to market goers, provide market maps, and assist in food rescue efforts at the conclusion of each event. Volunteers are responsible for pulling wagons through the market to collect items, assisting vendors with completing donation receipts, and helping DMARC staff load a truck for transport to our warehouse a few blocks away from the market venue. This opportunity begins Saturday, May 5th, and runs every other Saturday thereafter through the end of October. The Meals from the Market Program contributes thousands of pounds of fresh produce to our 14 brick-and-mortar pantry sites and our 14 mobile pantry sites, helping us focus on providing our clients with healthy and nourishing food.
