This opportunity will take place on September 9th and 10th! Shifts are two hours long and will take place: 8:00am - 10:00am, 10:00am - 12:00pm and 2:00pm - 4:00pm.
This November marks Star 102.5’s 25th annual Combat Hunger, the state’s largest community-wide food and fund drive. Today 1 in 8 Iowans are food insecure, and 1 in 5 Iowa children do not have enough eat. Star 102.5’s Combat Hunger unites schools, businesses, and organizations to hold food drives during the month of November to benefit Food Bank of Iowa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Call past participants of the food drive and encourage them to sign up again
- Sign up those who agree to participate
- Make notes on the result of each call
Qualifications:
- Desire to end hunger in Iowa
- Comfortable and confident with talking on the phone
- Ability to communicate well with others over the phone
Time:
- There will be three, two-hour shifts: 8:00am - 10:00am 10:00am - 12:00pm and 2:00-4:00pm
- Depending on the speed and result of the phone calls, shifts may not last the full two hours
Directions:
- The address to our location is 2220 E. 17th St.
- We are just west of I-235 at Guthrie and E. 17th
- Please come in the front doors (north side)
Age Requirement:
- Volunteers must be 18 or older.
Support/Training:
- Training will be provided by staff at the beginning of each shift
- Phone scripts will be provided
