Volunteer Opportunity | Flexible Commitment
Little Splash is looking for outgoing, community-minded volunteers to help us introduce our campaign to local businesses, organizations, and community members. We have teamed up with Hope Floats Foundation to raise money for scholarships for swimmers in our community. All of the money raised comes back to Des Moines Metro kids, who may not otherwise have the opportunity to learn lifesaving water safety skills.
As a Community Outreach Volunteer, you'll help us build relationships throughout the community and connect Little Splash with people and organizations who may be interested in supporting our mission.
What You'll Do
- Research local businesses and community organizations that may align with First Splash
- Visit or contact businesses and organizations to introduce the campaign
- Distribute approved First Splash materials
- Identify potential sponsors, partners, and community connections
- Attend community events or outreach opportunities when available
- Document outreach efforts and share promising leads with the campaign team
- Help spread awareness of First Splash throughout the local community

- Friendly, confident, and comfortable talking with new people
- Professional and dependable
- Comfortable representing a community campaign
- A strong communicator
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Passionate about making a positive impact in the community
You do not need fundraising experience to apply. Training, talking points, and outreach materials will be provided.
Time Commitment
We offer flexible volunteer commitments:
- 1-month sprint
- 3-month commitment
- 6-month commitment
- Ongoing
Volunteers can typically contribute 1–5 hours per week, depending on their availability.
