If organizing decorations, supplies, and logistics for events is your jam, we welcome you to volunteer for Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity's Home Ownership Celebration/Events Ambassador volunteer role. We host roughly 4-5 homeownership celebrations each year to congratulate new homeowners on their accomplishments and host additional events for the organization throughout the year.
Frequency: 7 –10 opportunities a year (1 – 3 hour increments)
Volunteer tasks include:
Door to door invitation distribution
Preparing welcome baskets for families
Confirm final vendor logistics (coordinate with partners providing food)
Cutting and preparing printed material
Organizing event supplies prior to event
Event set-up and tear-down
Door greeting for events
Assist with distributing catering
Assist with any material donations after event
Lift capacity of 25 lbs
Training: 30-minute orientation
Location: Mostly at Habitat main office located at 95 University, Des Moines, but events will be located throughout Greater Des Moines.
