Wayfinders assist patients, visitors, and colleagues with navigating through the hospital, providing information and directions
Responsibilities:
- Escort people from one point to another in the hospital or clinic, providing clear and concise directions.
- Deliver flowers and gifts to patients and colleagues as appropriate.
- Maintain a welcoming and clean environment in public areas for colleagues and members.
- Provide patient room numbers and information at the Information Desks as appropriate.
- Comfortable communicating with a variety of people, with varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Ability to give and follow directions for navigating through the hospital.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift five to 10 (5-10) pounds.
- Able to work independently and handle potentially stressful situations.
This position involves regular, three to four (3-4) hour shifts, every day (Sunday through Saturday), 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m
All volunteers MUST:
- Be 16 years old or older
- Be able to meet and clear all background and health screening requirements
- Make a minimum six-month commitment (or two semesters)
