West Des Moines Human Services is seeking volunteers for its Food Rescue Program. This opportunity is available weekdays at West Des Moines Human Services; currently, we need a volunteer on Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Volunteers help with sorting and dating food items. Shifts are approximately 2 hours in length. Some lifting involved (up to 25 lbs). Please note, we are not able to accommodate those in need of court-ordered community service hours. Prior to volunteering, you must make an appointment to visit our office for an interview/tour and to complete volunteer forms. A background check is also required prior to volunteering.
