Come celebrate Earth Day while picking up litter and wading through Walnut Creek on Saturday, April 20th! Join Des Moines Parks and Recreation, Walnut Creek Watershed Coalition, Westwood Neighborhood Association, and Iowa Geocacher's Association as we clean up the creek, and search for the hidden eggs! Each egg contains a prize, and you won't know until you turn it in! Volunteers are needed to help clean up litter along the trail and in Walnut Creek from 9am - 12pm.
What: Cache In Trash Out
Where: Pal Joey's 6224 Grand Ave
When: Saturday, April 20th from 9am - 12pm
Dress: Be ready to get dirty! Bring waders or wear old clothes and tennis shoes to climb in and out of the creek or along the trail and wooded areas.
Additional information: A kybo will be located at Pal Joey's, all gloves, garbage bags, grabbers and first aid will be provided. Water will be provided, please bring a water bottle. There will also be coffee and snacks donated by Starbucks, Amy Walsh, and the Westwood Neighborhood Association.
Registration is not required, but recommended for a quick check-in.
