The City of Des Moines Park and Recreation Department is a diverse agency offering a wide variety of experiences. The department oversees 76 parks, 2 golf courses, 5 swimming pools/aquatic centers, athletic fields, greenhouses, 4 cemeteries, a marina, and 2 community recreation centers. Along with the facilities, the parks department also provides youth and adult programming to be responsive to the needs of citizens and enhance their quality of life.
