The Central Iowa Kidney Walk is an annual kidney walk to raise awareness, prevention, and treatment of Kidney Disease. The kidney community, along with their family, friends, and supporters are invited to celebrate the gift of life for those who have received it, and help raise awareness for those who have not. The walk is a short 2 mile walk, with entertainment, food, and fun beforehand! Registration beings at 9am and the walk begins at 10:30am.
1 in 3 individuals are at risk for kidney disease. Risk factors include obesity, hypertension, diabetes, African American, Latino, or Asian descent, smoking, and family history of kidney disease. 26 million Americans already have kidney disease, and only 10% are diagnosed.
