Help Us Sound the Alarm in 2025!
The Red Cross is holding a Sound the Alarm. Save a Life.home fire safety and smoke alarm installation event on May 3rd, 2025, in Des Moines, Iowa. Red Cross volunteers and local partners will be canvassing neighborhoods, installing free smoke alarms, replacing batteries in existing alarms and helping families create escape plans.
Please help us Sound the Alarm by getting a team together to volunteer installing smoke alarms in our community. Teams of three to four individuals will go out into the community on May third accompanied by Red Cross staff and volunteers. Participants will receive an event t-shirt. Smoke alarms and installation equipment will be provided by the Red Cross.
We are anticipating 300 volunteers helping us install over 1,500 free smoke alarms
