Who We Are

The 4 R Kids Early Childhood Iowa Area Board has board membership that consists of 8-12 members that represent Adair, Dallas, Madison, and Warren County. Each county has 3 representatives. Board meetings are the 3rd Thursday of the month with meetings in February, April, May, September, November and December. Board meetings are held virtually.  4 R Kids Early Childhood Iowa Area Board receives state funding to support families with children under the age of 6 so children are school ready.

The mission of the 4 R Kids ECI area board is that every child beginning at birth will be healthy and successful.  The Board is responsible for administering in excess of $1 million dollars to local agencies for services to families with children under the age of 6.  The core concentration of services are preschool, child care and family support.  For more information visit www.4kids-eci.org.

What We Do

What we do - Provide funding to human service agencies to promote school readiness so children have the necessary tools to be prepared to start school.

Who we serve - Families with children ages prenatal through age 5 who live in Adair, Dallas, Madison, and Warren County.

How we support families 

  • Preschool tuition scholarships are provided to low income childre so they are prepared to enter kindergarten.
  • Families with children under the age of 6 receive home visitation services that improve problem solving skills and family functioning so children have the skills needed to enter kindergarten.
  • Child care providers receive training and tools to increase quality care and access so children have a safe learning environment that allows parents to work.
