Iowa European Cultural Connection

Mission: We connect Iowans with European traditions, language learning and cultural experiences.

Established in January 2015, Iowa European Cultural Connection has grown from three founders to a board of four, a volunteer executive director and an event planning committee of 25. Six community members serve as consultants. IECC total volunteer hours are approximately 200 hours per month. In addition to several fundraising events, we produced the first Christkindlmarket Des Moines in 2016 with plans to produce this community experience for many years to come.

We produce community events focused on European traditions and have developed a European language school for children and adults. We are a resource to Iowa-based cultural membership associations who are having difficulties maintaining and growing their membership and staying relevant in their communities.
