Who We Are
Catholic Charities is a social service organization that serves people of all faiths in Central and Southwest Iowa. Because our mission is based on Catholic Social Teaching, we are compelled to help ALL in need, regardless of religion, race, gender, or demographic. We partner with many other civic and religious organizations in the area to complement our services and strive for well-rounded care for those we serve.
What We Do
Each year, Catholic Charities offers food, shelter counseling and hope to more than 20,000 people. Catholic Charities has five programs, including Counseling, Refugee Resettlement, Food Pantry, Emergency Family Shelter, and Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault.
While most of our direct client work is done by trained staff, we need the support of many others to help cook, clean, gather, sort, plan, and more! Orientation and training will be provided. We hope you will consider this noble task of caring for those in need.
To change the world we must be good to those who cannot repay us.
– Pope Francis
