Who We Are
With over 100 years of uninterrupted service, the Playhouse is among the oldest continuously-operating community theatres in the U.S. It is also one of the largest community theatres in the U.S. The Playhouse offers shows and education year-round, and utilizes nearly 1000 volunteers annually.
What We Do
The mission of the Des Moines Community Playhouse is to create extraordinary, shared experiences through live theatre. The Playhouse vision is to be the home for artistic collaboration where any story can be told.
