Des Moines Refugee Support

We are community members who want to help.  The mission of Des Moines Refugee Support is to identify and bridge gaps for refugee families, in particular refugee children, as they establish their new lives in Iowa

Support: getting basics to families - food, furniture, household items, clothing. This happens at the Spring Free Store, The Back-to-School Free Store, Santa's Ride, and on an ongoing basis.

Engage: activities and sports for school aged kids - soccer, basketball, dance, outings to watch sports, summer camp, Adventureland.

Empower: working with teenagers to get their driver's licenses, find part-time jobs, and apply
for college.
