What is Book Buddy: |
Book Buddy is a 1:1 reading program that pairs volunteers with preschoolers for regular reading. The caring adult reads aloud to the same student once or twice a week for 30 minutes. Click here for a detailed program description, photos, and stories. |

Meet the requirements: |
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and sign a DHS Waiver, and commit to at least one session per week. |

Attend an Orientation: |
All new volunteers are required to attend either a virtual or in person orientation. |

Background/DHS Waiver: |
A background check or DHS Volunteer Statement Waiver may need to be completed dependent on the volunteer site. |

Reading sessions are from 9:30 - 10:00 AM on weekdays. See below for each center's specific days. The program runs from October through April.
