Wayfinders assist patients, visitors, and colleagues with navigating through the hospital, providing information and directions

Responsibilities:

Escort people from one point to another in the hospital or clinic, providing clear and concise directions.Deliver flowers and gifts to patients and colleagues as appropriate.Maintain a welcoming and clean environment in public areas for colleagues and members.Provide patient room numbers and information at the Information Desks as appropriate.Comfortable communicating with a variety of people, with varying abilities and backgrounds.Ability to give and follow directions for navigating through the hospital.Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.Able to lift five to 10 (5-10) pounds.Able to work independently and handle potentially stressful situations.

This position involves regular, three to four (3-4) hour shifts, every day (Sunday through Saturday), 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m 

All volunteers MUST:

Be 16 years old or olderBe able to meet and clear all background and health screening requirementsMake a minimum six-month commitment (or two semesters)

Purpose:  Volunteers will provide support and be a point of contact for family and friends, at the desk in the surgery waiting lobby and other lobbies in procedural areas. 

Responsibilities:  

Maintain a clean and welcoming lounge areaAnswer phonePass along messages and questions between patient care team and patient friends and family members - excluding clinical information and other details according to HIPPA guidelines.Monitor supply of coffee, Kleenex and other comfort items used by people in the waiting roomProvide directions to additional hospital locations and services

Skills/Experience: 

Excellent communication skills, prior customer service preferredComfortable using Microsoft 365 productsAbility to use a phoneAbility to pass a criminal and offender background check and volunteer health screening

Training Required:

Successful completion of identified training modules as identified by the departmentAttend a new volunteer orientationComplete required annual trainings as assigned, maintain any necessary certifications or licenses, and participate in trainings as identified.

Purpose:  Members of the Safety Team provide an extra set of eyes and ears throughout the hospital.  In this role, volunteers may assist providing directions, reporting incidents, and crowd control.

Responsibilities:  

Conduct regular rounds of assigned areas, looking for issues or areas of concernReport any issues or incidents found to Public SafetyProvide directions and assistance to patients and visitorsAssist with crowd control, and other public safety activities as assigned

Preferred Experience:

Interest in security/public safetyPrior customer serviceSolid communication skills, written and verbalComfortable interacting with a wide variety of peopleComfortable walking up to 3 miles

A six-month commitment is appreciated.

The Volunteer Services Assistant provides administrative support in the Volunteer Services Department

Responsibilities:

Enter all volunteer information in volunteer management database

Send applications to interested volunteersProcess completed applications and background check authorizationsSchedule required volunteer health screeningsCoordinate new volunteer orientation and onboarding with site specific supervisorsDistribute volunteer ID badges and jacketsTrack required volunteer training and certifications for renewal and reporting
