Opportunities From: United Way of Central Iowa

Volunteer: Junior Achievement Finance Park

JA Finance Park begins in the classroom with hands-on activities led by 7th or 8th grade teachers. After completing the classroom lessons, students visit JA Finance Park to participate in an interactive simulation that brings those lessons to life.

During the simulation, each student receives a randomly assigned life scenario and explores different aspects of adult financial decision-making — from childcare and housing to investments and insurance. By the end of the experience, students put their money management skills to the test as they create and balance their own budgets.

The Volunteer Commitment
