An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but many low income Iowans don’t have easy access to fresh produce. The Food Bank of Iowa could use your help sorting their recent shipment of apples! You will get a quick orientation and then dive into checking the condition of apples to make sure they are not bruised or damaged. After being sorted the apples need to be separated into sacks that make it easier for them to be passed out to area agencies and clients. YOU can help fight hunger across the state and in your community by joining the Food Bank of Iowa's team of volunteers.
Make sure to wear closed-toe shoes and dress in layers – the temperature in the warehouse can vary.
