Volunteers will take the Food Bank of Iowa's van and deliver BackPack™ sacks to Des Moines area schools. Shifts will take place every other Wednesday and Friday morning throughout the school year. You can pick whichever day works for you! Valid driver's license required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in loading BackPack boxes into the van for delivery
- Use the Food Bank of Iowa van to deliver BackPack sack boxes to local schools
- Assist the school in unloading the BackPack boxes onto a cart
- Return the van to the Food Bank of Iowa
Qualifications:
- Able to stand, move, bend, and lift 30 lbs.
- Valid drivers license
- 18 years of age or older
Support/Training: Instructions will be provided on-site at the beginning of the shift. A map with the route along with a GPS will be provided.
Age Requirement: Minimum age of 18
Dress Code: Close-toed shoes are required; no exceptions. Dress comfortably.
