Volunteer Opportunity | Flexible Commitment

Little Splash is looking for outgoing, community-minded volunteers to help us introduce our campaign to local businesses, organizations, and community members. We have teamed up with Hope Floats Foundation to raise money for scholarships for swimmers in our community. All of the money raised comes back to Des Moines Metro kids, who may not otherwise have the opportunity to learn lifesaving water safety skills.  

As a Community Outreach Volunteer, you'll help us build relationships throughout the community and connect Little Splash with people and organizations who may be interested in supporting our mission.

What You'll DoResearch local businesses and community organizations that may align with First SplashVisit or contact businesses and organizations to introduce the campaignDistribute approved First Splash materialsIdentify potential sponsors, partners, and community connectionsAttend community events or outreach opportunities when availableDocument outreach efforts and share promising leads with the campaign teamHelp spread awareness of First Splash throughout the local communityWe're Looking For Someone Who IsFriendly, confident, and comfortable talking with new peopleProfessional and dependableComfortable representing a community campaignA strong communicatorSelf-motivated and able to work independentlyPassionate about making a positive impact in the community

You do not need fundraising experience to apply. Training, talking points, and outreach materials will be provided.

Time Commitment

We offer flexible volunteer commitments:

1-month sprint3-month commitment6-month commitmentOngoing

Volunteers can typically contribute 1–5 hours per week, depending on their availability.

With partnership of Hope Floats Foundation, Little Splash is raising funds for local swim lesson scholarships. All funds raised will directly impact Iowa children, and provide them with lifesaving skills they may not otherwise have access to.
