Come help play with and watch over the kiddos who come to our Pow Wow! The Children's area is a fun place where children can participate in crafts led by our volunteers. If you have children yourself, you are more than welcome to bring them with you!

Volunteers in this area will be needed for 6-hour shifts on September 12 and the 13th.

Help us feed our amazing volunteers and join in on the meal yourself! Every day of the Pow Wow, we feed our volunteers as a thank you for their hard work. It is of special importance to us at Pow Wow that our elders are attended to and have everything that they need, such as snacks and water. So, if you like cooking and working with the elderly, this is a good role for you!

Are you a neat freak who takes pride in cleanliness and keeping a tidy and comfortable place? If so, we could use your help on our Sanitation Team!

We are looking for people to volunteer to check the bathrooms every hour on the hour to make sure they are tidy and well equipped with toilet paper in all the stalls. This team will also need to check the grounds to make sure trash is in the bins. When the bins are full, volunteers will need to make sure that the trash is pulled and a new bag is put in.

Volunteers in this area will be needed for 4-hour shifts on September 11, 12, and the 13th.

We will need help setting up our wonderful event! If you are a strong and organized person who follows orders very well, this is the job for you!

First, we will be needing help with loading the trailer up from the storage unit into trailers. The location will be in Woodward, IA. 

Then, once trailers get out to the Powwow Grounds at Jester Park, we need help with unloading trailers and putting stuff in the areas it will go. This will take place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Tuesday, September 8, - September 11, volunteers will help with setting up Tipis, canopies, chairs, a Mc stand, kitchen, kids’ area, info tent, and merchandise tent.

We will need help tearing down our wonderful event! If you are a strong and organized person who follows orders very well, this is the job for you!

Volunteer Job Title: Sound Engineer

Purpose: We are looking for a volunteer with sound system knowledge who can help us figure out what we need to upgrade and properly set up our PA system for our yearly event.

Location: Remote

Key Responsibilities:

·       Work with our director to learn about our current sound system and make suggestions for improvements.

·       Willing to demonstrate and/or set up a brand-new sound system.

·       Quickly identify and resolve technical issues such as audio feedback and faulty cables.

·       Unload, position, and connect audio gear for our yearly event.

·       Pack up equipment after yearly event and perform routine maintenance to ensure all gear is ready for future use.

·       Required to attend yearly event and monthly White Eagle Multicultural Pow Wow Committee meetings as needed.

Reports to: Director of the White Eagle Multicultural Pow Wow Committee

Length of Assignment: A commitment of at least one year on the White Eagle Multicultural Pow Wow Committee

Qualifications & Skills:

·       Passion for the values of our Pow Wow: multiculturalism, intercultural dialogue, friendship, education, and celebration

·       Familiarity with live sound equipment

·       Able to remain calm under pressure and troubleshoot technical failures quickly

·       Capable of collaborating with a wide variety of people such as event coordinators, performers, and other volunteers

·       Able to work well in a team as well as independently

·       Must be willing to undergo a background check

Training & Support:

·       General volunteer onboarding

·       Ongoing guidance and communication with the Director as well as the whole of the White Eagle Multicultural Pow Wow Committee

Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age.

Volunteer Job Title: Grant Writer

Purpose: We are looking for two volunteers who will work as a team to research and apply for grants that ultimately help to keep the White Eagle Multicultural Pow Wow financially secure.

Location: Remote

Key Responsibilities:

·       Identify and research grants to apply for from various government, private foundations, and corporate sponsors.

·       Prepare and submit grant applications.

·       Keep track of grant deadlines and ensure the requirements of grants are met.

·       Build relationships with funding organizations, ensuring follow-up on the progress made in our organization due to a grant being awarded.

·       Attend monthly White Eagle Multicultural Pow Wow Committee meetings either virtually or in-person.

Reports to: Director of the White Eagle Multicultural Pow Wow Committee

Length of Assignment: A commitment of at least one year on the White Eagle Multicultural Pow Wow Committee

Qualifications & Skills:

·       Passion for the values of our Pow Wow: multiculturalism, intercultural dialogue, friendship, education, and celebration

·       Previous professional or volunteer experience in grant writing preferred

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·       Organizational and time management skills

·       Able to work well in a team as well as independently

·       Must be willing to undergo a background check

Training & Support:

·       General volunteer onboarding

·       Ongoing guidance and communication with the Director as well as the whole of the White Eagle Multicultural Pow Wow Committee
