Acceptance of Terms and Conditions of Use:

 

Your use indicates your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions listed below. From time to time these Terms and Conditions may be revised by updating this document and posting it on the Web Site. If at any time you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you must cease your use of this Web Site.

  1. You are solely responsible for posting/updating your agency content. Your agency/opportunities then go through an approval process. This may take up to two business days.
  2. All agencies that list opportunities with United Way of Central Iowa warrant that they are fully complying with these terms and conditions, are a legally incorporated nonprofit or government entity, school, faith-based organization, neighborhood association recognized as such by the applicable city or county, and/or for-profit organizations that engage volunteers in direct client contact. United Way of Central Iowa reserves the right to refuse any agencies whose volunteer programs' missions and purposes it finds contrary to United Way of Central Iowa’s core values.
  3. Registering agencies agree to:
    • Provide volunteer opportunities that do not exclude any person who seeks to volunteer based on their age or any other characteristic protected by law.
    • All Volunteer Opportunities listed must be within the Polk, Dallas, or Warren counties.
    • Provide a safe environment in which to volunteer.
    • Not require a monetary charge to volunteers for services offered.
    • Provide volunteers with orientation and or training needed for success in their role.
  4. In order to continue receiving referrals, agencies are required to:
    • Include at least one volunteer opportunity.
    • Update their volunteer opportunities at least every 6 months or more frequently as needed.
    • Update your contact information online as needed
    • Notify us when volunteer opportunities are filled.
  5. Volunteer positions requested need to be of a service nature and/or designed to enhance the quality of service to clients.  Positions for  which the organization has funds to hire staff or volunteer positions which replace or displace paid staff are not eligible for posting on this website. 
  6. Requests from religious organizations are accepted for the purpose of community service such as day care, food distribution, etc., providing service may not be restricted to a specific population.
  7. Requests for volunteers to participate in political activities are not accepted.
