Nutrition 4 Young Children (N4YC) is distributing baby shower gifts to expectant parents who have attended an online baby shower! The gifts are "Healthy Baby" backpacks filled with baby supplies. The parents are Polk County residents who are struggling on a limited income.
Volunteers are needed to show these new parents community support, to help them get their children off to a great start! In addition to the backpack gifts, N4YC offers parents a website, a Face Book page, and a newsletter with links to community organizations that assist parents of young children.
Volunteers will put up baby shower decorations, set up tables, greet parents, serve refreshments, help parents bring gifts to their cars, and do clean-up.
Volunteers may stay for an hour, or for the full event. Orientation of volunteers starts at 1:30 pm. The giveaway is from 2 pm to 4 pm.
