Tech Camp is an immersive annual summer camp experience for central Iowa students in grades 8 through 12. Each year invited students attend inspirational keynote sessions, technology sessions and other activities to explore and engage with technology. Tech Camp is powered by local technology professionals who give their time and talent to serve as volunteer facilitators, mentors and camp hosts. Students not only learn about technology, but they also get to personally interact with professionals and discuss education, careers, jobs, skills and the like.
This year sessions will cover topics on 3D modeling, Agile, Arduino, data science, design thinking, electronics, game development, making, JavaScript, Python and more!
Volunteer mentors are welcome to sign up for one or more sessions, either full or half days. Please note in the comments if you can only participate part of the scheduled time. The role of the mentor is to be present and encouraging to the students as they progress through the facilitator's content. Mentors don't need to be an expert on the session topic, just willing to help the students.
