The Summer Food Service Program ensures that low-income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. Kids will be served a ready-made breakfast at this site. Volunteers will assist in set-up, distribution of the meals, overseeing volunteers and clean-up.
We are looking for a volunteer Site Lead for our Evelyn Davis Park Breakfast Feeding Site located at 1400 Forest Avenue, Des Moines, IA. This site will serve from 10:30am through 11:00am on August 15th through the 19th and August 22nd through the 23rd. Site Leads will oversee the site and additional volunteers, making sure meals are handed out and counted.
If you are interested in becoming a Site Lead for the Evelyn Davis Park site, we will have 30 minute training and information sessions on Tuesday, August 9th and Thursday, August 11th at 10:00am at the Food Bank of Iowa (2220 E 17th Street, Des Moines, IA 50316).
