Join us for an information session about Book Buddy on Tuesday, September 29th at Smokey Row (1910 Cottage Grove Ave) in Des Moines. Staff members will be present to talk about the program, the locations, and examples of the books we read to the kids. Coffee will be provided, so start your morning off right!
As a Book Buddy volunteer, you will read one-on-one with four-year-old students at early childhood centers in Des Moines, helping to prepare children for a successful start in school. Opportunities are Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 10 a.m., and you choose the center and day that works best for you. Reading takes place October through April. Volunteers have the option to read every week or alternate weeks with another volunteer.
