At DMACC
Volunteer literacy coaches make a huge difference in a struggling reader's life. You meet one-to-one with an assigned
adult from the community or with a new Iowan who needs
to improve his or her reading,
writing, and/or speaking skills.
To attend the orientation, volunteers complete a literacy coach application. This orientation is open to
anyone who has a desire
to learn and guide an adult whose goal is
to improve his or her life through literacy.
