The Beacon

Who We Are

The Beacon has been serving women in our community since the 1980s and exists to create environments that empower women in crisis to achieve positive long-term change. We believe women deserve more than a place to stay. They deserve safety, support, accountability, healing, and opportunities to thrive.

We serve adults ages 18+ who identify and socialize as female and provide trauma-informed, relationship-centered support that helps women rebuild their lives with dignity, stability, and hope.

What We Do

The Beacon supports adult women rebuilding their lives after experiences such as trauma, substance use, homelessness, incarceration, domestic violence, and other significant life challenges. We are not an emergency shelter. Individuals seeking services complete an application process to determine program fit and readiness for the supportive environment we provide.

Our programs include supportive housing, recovery support, case management, life skills development, wellness programming, and community connection designed to create lasting change rather than short-term solutions.

Our work is guided by the Eight Dimensions of Wellness because healing extends beyond housing alone and includes:

• Emotional Wellness
• Physical Wellness
• Social Wellness
• Financial Wellness
• Occupational Wellness
• Spiritual Wellness
• Intellectual Wellness
• Environmental Wellness

Through a continuum of care, women build the tools, confidence, relationships, and stability needed to move beyond survival and toward long-term independence.
