DMARC manages a Food Pantry Network consisting of 13 separate partnering food pantry sites, a Mobile Food Pantry, home delivery service, and numerous community supporters. Our mission at DMARC is working together to meet basic human needs for the greater Des Moines community – and that includes everyone! We strive to provide healthy, culturally appropriate food through our Food Pantry Network and welcome all those who need assistance, no matter their circumstances. We make every effort to treat each visitor to our food pantries with dignity and respect.
This year, we're excited to use United Way's Days of Action to complete a major refresh of our DMARC-Ket Food Pantry! We'll be temporarily closing the pantry to make improvements that will create a more welcoming, efficient, and dignified shopping experience for the thousands of neighbors who visit us each year.
Volunteers will play a vital role in bringing this project to life by helping
empty, clean, paint, and restock our pantry, refresh our waiting room, and help paint our volunteer breakroom mural. This signup opportunity is for those folks who will help put the finishing touches on our refreshed waiting room!
Volunteers can help with paint, move and assemble furniture, and create a warm,
welcoming space for pantry visitors.
