Description

DMARC manages a Food Pantry Network consisting of 14 separate partnering food pantry sites, a Mobile Food Pantry, home delivery service, and numerous community supporters. Our mission at DMARC is working together to meet basic human needs for the greater Des Moines community – and that includes everyone! We strive to provide healthy, culturally appropriate food through our Food Pantry Network and welcome all those who need assistance, no matter their circumstances. We make every effort to treat each visitor to our food pantries with dignity and respect.

We would love for you to join us for United Way's Day of Action! Volunteer opportunities can include:

  • Assisting visitors shop at the DMARC-Ket Food Pantry and keeping shelves stocked.
  • Accepting and sorting food donations, ensuring items are sealed, in date, and fit our pantry guidelines.
  • Cleaning our warehouse and pantry spaces, preparing for future outreach
  • Other projects may include touch-up painting, patching small holes in walls, and light outdoor work such as weeding to help keep our facilities clean and welcoming.

If your organization has specific skills, talents, or project ideas you'd like to contribute, we'd love to hear from you! Please reach out to our Volunteer & Outreach Manager, Chloe Bald, at cbald@dmarcunited.org or by calling 515-277-6969 ext. 220. Thank you for being part of this day of impact!
